This site has been created due to the current uncertainty surrounding the bitcoin.org domain. The aim is to provide information surrounding Bitcoin with as little bias as possible. The current release of bitcoin core node software can always be downloaded from https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/releases
It is not strictly necessary to download the full node software to use bitcoin. If you just need a wallet to send and receive bitcoin, we recommend the electrum wallet. Available from https://electrum.org/#download
